History, Field of StudyAssociate of ArtsThe Associates of Arts degree with a field of studyin History is designated for students planning totransfer to a baccalaureate degree in History orLiberal Arts at four-year institutions.The curriculum includes general academic coursesand electives that enable students who intend tomajor in History to transfer to four-year institutions.Completing a History program can expandopportunities in teaching, museums, archives,government, law school, journalism and otherrelated areas.Instruction in History promotes reading, writing,and critical thinking, as well as developmentof awareness of how the past has shaped thepresent.
