CONTINUING,PROFESSIONALand workforceEDUCATIONContinuing, Professional and Workforce Educationprovides quality and utility lifelong educationopportunities through professional development,career programs, corporate training, personalenrichment courses, and professional conferences.The department is committed to (1) empoweringresidents of all ages with the necessary skills andknowledge to effectively fulfill their professional,business and personal needs and (2) assistingemployers in the training, development, andefficiency of their workforce.Classes are scheduled with flexible hours, includingevenings and weekends throughout Hidalgo andStarr Counties. Classes are delivered both onlineand in traditional classroom settings. Courses canbe scheduled in response to community demandwhere 12 or more students register for the class.Mandatory Continuing Education Units (CEU)meeting licensing requirements are available forprofessionals. A Satisfactory (S) or Unsatisfactory(U) grade is earned for continuing educationcourses.
