SociologySociology, Field of StudyAssociate of ArtsSociology is the study of social life, social change,and the social causes and consequences of humanbehavior. Sociologists investigate the structure ofgroups, organizations, and societies, and howpeople interact within these contexts. Sociologistsstudy how deviance, crime, marriage, family,politics, education, race, gender, and religionaffect individuals.The subject matter of sociology ranges from theintimate family to the hostile mob; from organizedcrime to religious cults; from the divisions of racegender and social class to the shared beliefs of acommon culture; and from the sociology of workto the sociology of sports.
