CAMPUS SECURITYThe mission of the <strong>South</strong> <strong>Texas</strong> <strong>College</strong> Office of Safetyand Security is to provide a safe educational environmentfor students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. This isaccomplished through:1. The education of the college community on crimeprevention methods and techniques and the need toassume personal responsibility for safety and securityon campus.2. The development of a comprehensive all hazardsemergency response plan to ensure the safety ofindividuals and the protection of college resources.3. The acquisition and utilization of state of the arttechnology to deter crime and protect the collegecommunity.4. The enforcement all laws, policies, and regulations.The Director of Security prepares this crime statisticsreport to comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure ofCampus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act. Thesestatistics may also include crimes that have occurred inprivate residences or businesses that is not requiredby law. Each year, notification is made to all enrolledstudents providing the web site to access this report.Faculty and staff receive similar notification. Each year,student organizations sponsor conferences,seminars, lectures, debates, cultural and socialevents, and fine arts programs.
