. . .٣٧ ژوئن Rowshangar Publication Vol.4, Issue. 37, June 2010 ٢٠١٠10ماھنامۀ روشنگر سال چھارمشمارهextremists are not really folks from thefringe. They are more mainstreamthan Mr. Awad thinks, because theyare doing exactly what their prophetdid, which is to kill anyone who daresinsult Islam or its prophet. Followingin the footsteps of the greatest Muslimis what most Muslims should do,right? But as deplorable as the threats ofthese 'extremists' are, I find it moreappalling that Mr. Awad quietly attemptsto sneak in false information tovenerate Muhammad. His actions andthe actions of men like him are farmore dangerous than the ones he callsextremists who attempt to kill peoplethat have insulted Islam or Muhammad.Mr. Awad and his comrades continueto hide the truth from Muslim youthwho trust the judgment of these men.Instead of giving them insight intowhat the real Muhammad did, theydistort facts to demonize everyonewho stands up against them and unmasksthe truth. Muhammad was aleader of people. He brought a religionthat today unites billions of people. However, he was a man, and all menare deeply flawed. He made mistakes, committed atrocities, and did injustices.History has recorded all of these.Mr. Awad and his comrades can eitherwrite about the real Muhammad anddesensitize these youth so they won'tfall into the trap of Muahmmed's cultof personality, or they can continue tolie about facts and stoke the fire ofhatred. The choice is theirs. But while they're figuring this out, they need to keep their hands off theFirst Amendment. Freedom of speechis enshrined in the US Constitution fora reason. This is America, not Pakistanor Saudi Arabia. If Mr. Awadcan't deal with freedom, if he can'trespect the US Constitution, thenmaybe he should find a more suitablecountry to immigrate to.□□□Saudi Clerics Advocate Adult Breast-Feeding UpdatedAOL News (June 5) -- Women inSaudi Arabia should give their breastmilk to male colleagues and acquaintancesin order to avoid breaking strictIslamic law forbidding mixing betweenthe sexes, two powerful Saudiclerics have said. They are at odds, however, over precisely how the milkshould be conveyed.A fatwa issued recently about adultbreast-feeding to establish "maternalrelations" and preclude the possibilityof sexual contact has resulted in aweek's worth of newspaper headlinesin Saudi Arabia. Some have found thedebate so bizarre that they're callingfor stricter regulations about how andwhen fatwas should be issued.Sheikh Al Obeikan, an adviser to theroyal court and consultant to the Ministryof Justice, set off a firestorm ofcontroversy recently when he said onTV that women who come into regularcontact with men who aren't relatedto them ought to give them theirbreast milk so they will be consideredrelatives."The man should take the milk, butnot directly from the breast of thewoman," Al Obeikan said, accordingto Gulf News. "He should drink it andthen becomes a relative of the family,a fact that allows him to come in contactwith the women without breakingIslam's rules about mixing."Obeikan said the fatwa applied to menwho live in the same house or comeinto contact with women on a regularbasis, except for drivers.Al Obeikan, who made the statementafter being asked on TV about a 2007fatwa issued by an Egyptian scholarabout adult breast-feeding, said thatthe breast milk ought to be pumpedout and given to men in a glass. But his remarks were followed by anannouncement by another high-profileDana KennedyContributorsheik, Abi Ishaq Al Huwaini, whosaid that men should suckle the breastmilk directly from a woman's breast.Shortly after the two sheiks weighedin on the matter, a bus driver in thecountry's Eastern Region reportedlytold one of the female teachers whomhe drives regularly that he wanted tosuckle milk from her breast. Theteacher has threaten to file a lawsuitagainst him.The fatwa stems from the tenets of thestrict Wahhabi version of Islam thatgoverns modern Saudi Arabia andforbids women from mixing with menwho are not relatives. They are alsonot allowed to vote, drive or evenleave the country without the consentof a male "guardian."Under Islamic law, women are encouragedto breast-feed their childrenuntil the age of 2. It is not uncommonfor sisters, for example, to breast-feedtheir nephews so they and theirdaughters will not have to cover theirfaces in front of them later in life. Thecustom is called being a "breast milksibling."But under Islamic law, breast milksiblings have to be breastfed beforethe age of 2 in five "fulfilling" sessions.Islam prohibits sexual relationsbetween a man and any woman whobreastfed him in infancy. They arethen allowed to be alone togetherwhen the man is an adult because heis not considered a potential mate."The whole issue just shows howclueless men are," blogger Eman AlNafjan wrote on her website. "All thisback and forth between sheiks and notone bothers to ask a woman if it'slogical, let alone possible to breastfeeda grown man five fulfillingbreast milk meals."Moreover, the thought of a hugehairy face at a woman's breast doesnot evoke motherly or even brotherlyfeelings. It could go from the grotesqueto the erotic but definitely notmaternal."Al Nafjan said many in the countrywere appalled by the fatwa."We have many important issues thatneed discussing," Al Nafjan told AOLNews Friday. "It's ridiculous to spendtime talking about adult breastfeeding."Unlawful mixing between the sexes istaken very seriously in Saudi Arabia. In March 2009, a 75-year-old Syrianwidow, Khamisa Mohammed Sawadi, living in the city of Al-Chamil, wasgiven 40 lashes and sentenced to sixmonths in prison after the religiouspolice learned that two men who werenot related to her were in her house, delivering bread to her.One of the two men found in herhouse, Fahd, told the police that Sawadibreast-fed him as a baby so hewas considered a son and had a rightto be there. But in a later court ruling,a judge said it could not be provedthat Fahd was her "breast milk son."Fahd was sentenced to four months inprison and 40 lashes, and the manwho accompanied him got six monthsand 60 lashes. The original adult breast-feedingfatwa was issued three years ago byan Egyptian scholar at Egypt's al-Azhar University, considered SunniIslam's top university. Ezzat Attiyawas expelled from the university afteradvocating breast-feeding of men as away to circumnavigate segregation ofthe sexes in Egypt.A year ago, Attiya was reinstated tohis post.□□□دين،‏ افساري است كه به گردن تان مي اندازند،‏تا خوب سواري دهيد،‏ و هرگز پياده نمي شوند،‏باشد كه رستگار شويد...‏‏«كائوچيو»‏
