j. Dismissal from the <strong>College</strong>: The student is removed from the<strong>College</strong> and can return only after providing the Deans withsatisfactory evidence that the student has complied with theconditions set for readmission. The dismissal remains on thepermanent transcript.k. Expulsion from the <strong>College</strong>: The student is permanentlyremoved from the <strong>College</strong>. The expulsion remains on thepermanent transcript.3. The following sanctions may be imposed upon clubs, groups, ororganizations:a. All of the above sanctions listed, a through k, if applicable.b. Deactivation: Loss of privileges, including <strong>College</strong> recognitionand/or funding for a specified period of time. More than one ofthe above sanctions listed may be imposed for any singleviolation.The following interim sanctions and processes are available in emergency orextraordinary situations: In certain circumstances, the Dean of the Faculty mayimpose a suspension pending an assessment and/or a hearing before the JudicialCommittee. The appropriate circumstances for an interim suspension may beimposed only as follows:i. to ensure the safety and well-being of members of the <strong>College</strong>community;ii. to preserve <strong>College</strong> property;iii. to ensure the student’s own physical or emotional safety andwell-being;iv. if the student poses a definite threat of disruption orinterference with the normal operations of the <strong>College</strong>.During interim suspension, the student may be denied access to studentresidences and/or to the campus (including classes) and/or all other <strong>College</strong>activities or privileges for which the student might otherwise be eligible. Adetermination of the appropriate circumstances and the extent of the interimsuspension shall be made at the sole discretion of the Dean of the Faculty.Whenever interim sanctions are imposed, a hearing shall be convened at theearliest possible time. The interim sanction may remain in effect until a finaldecision has been reached, including the appropriate appeals process.In any extreme or clearly dangerous situation, the judgment of the President ofthe <strong>College</strong> suffices to enforce a decision of temporary suspension and removalfrom the <strong>College</strong> until a hearing before the Judicial Committee can be arranged.This procedure will be accomplished as quickly as possible. The <strong>College</strong> furtherreserves the right to exclude at any time, following established procedures thatprotect individual rights, any student whose conduct or academic standing itregards as unacceptable in a community of scholars and students.
