17.5 Determining if the instrument or sensor is faultyA TEST button is provided on the rear of the <strong>900</strong>-C to help determine if the <strong>900</strong>-C or aconductivity sensor is faulty. Pressing this button disconnects the <strong>Conductivity</strong> sensor and applies afixed resistance to the input. The <strong>900</strong>-C should display approximately the following values,depending upon the current calibration settings.51<strong>Conductivity</strong><strong>TDS</strong><strong>Resistivity</strong><strong>Ratio</strong>1000 uS/cm500 ppM1.00 KΩ.cmTest function not available for this modeIf the <strong>900</strong>-C is operating correctly, the reading should be totally stable and within ±25%, dependingon the current calibration settings.If the reading is unstable or outside the above limits, the <strong>900</strong>-C should be returned to the factory forservice, together with the <strong>Conductivity</strong> and Temperature sensors.
