<strong>in</strong>creases while few new staff is hired. Overwork was claimed to be <strong>in</strong>cidental, but, with the time<br />
registration <strong>in</strong> h<strong>and</strong>, the Work<strong>in</strong>g Council demonstrated is was structural, for some even beyond<br />
the boundaries set by labour laws. [2]<br />
Dur<strong>in</strong>g our visit at the office, some employees suggested the system could be exp<strong>and</strong>ed to enable<br />
Private Pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g. This <strong>in</strong>volves the pr<strong>in</strong>ter down the hall be<strong>in</strong>g sensitive to the presence of the<br />
person giv<strong>in</strong>g the pr<strong>in</strong>t comm<strong>and</strong>. This will not only prevent sensitive material be<strong>in</strong>g read by<br />
others, but will also cut down on the huge pile of pr<strong>in</strong>ts that are never collected. [3]<br />
ID issue The system was applied foremost as a security system (evacuation <strong>and</strong> theft prevention) but soon<br />
evolved as a track<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> time registration device. Dur<strong>in</strong>g the implementation phase compla<strong>in</strong>ts<br />
<strong>and</strong> worries were expressed by a small number of employees, some claim<strong>in</strong>g it to be a Big<br />
Brother system. These matters were addressed by the Workers Council <strong>and</strong> soon the discomfort<br />
faded away. Afterwards, the time registration system was even used to advantage of the staff to<br />
show how much overwork they were perform<strong>in</strong>g. [2]<br />
