Tips to enjoying the <strong>Iola</strong> <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Car</strong> <strong>Show</strong>Blue Ribbon <strong>Car</strong>sA display of outstanding old carsmanufactured between 1903 and 1981.<strong>The</strong>se vehicles are trophy quality, andmany have unique features.Vehicles in this exhibit are placedthere by special invitation only. <strong>The</strong>exhibit area is located north and west ofthe <strong>F+W</strong> <strong>Media</strong> building.Prewar <strong>Car</strong>s<strong>The</strong>se vehicles are located west of thetheme tent. This display includes manydifferent cars that may not be found inthe other two special exhibit areas. 1942or earlier manufactured cars.Modified <strong>Car</strong>sAn exhibit of modified vehicles islocated east of the <strong>F+W</strong> <strong>Media</strong> building.This area the vehicles or hot rod, streetrod, rat rod, custom and lead sleds. Noprimered or rusted-out spots. 1981 orearlier manufactured cars.<strong>The</strong>me <strong>Car</strong>sHonors “Delightful Dodges andDeSotos.” Vehicles from the two storieddomestic brands will be featured. Thiswill be located behind the <strong>F+W</strong> <strong>Media</strong>building.All Original <strong>Car</strong>s<strong>The</strong> vehicle(s) has to be 75% originalinterior and exterior to include upholstery,chrome and paint. Original typepower train with no modification, needsthe right wheels, tires and hubcaps.these vehicles will be parking west ofGate 4. 1976 or earlier manufactured.Must be pre-approved.<strong>Old</strong> <strong>Car</strong>’s Young Driver <strong>Car</strong>s<strong>The</strong> car hobbyist has to be 25 yearsof age or younger that drive a collectorcar that is 25 years or older. This area islocated west of the “Teamed to Learn”tent. Must be pre-approved.Teamed to Learn<strong>Iola</strong> <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Car</strong> <strong>Show</strong> began an educationalopportunity for those attending the event.“Teamed to Learn” tent is located west ofthe activity center. Schedule on page 79.Postwar <strong>Car</strong>sThis is the largest show car exhibitarea and features vehicles built between1946 and 1981. It is in this area whereyou can see an evolution of vehicles thatgrew in size, power, and things such astailfins, chrome, and paint detail. Thisarea is located south west of the Tower.<strong>Car</strong> Corral<strong>The</strong> car corral is, in reality, a show ofold cars. Throughout the four days ofthe show more than 1,000 cars of 2000or older will be located in this area. Allof the cars are for sale with the price tobe negotiated between the buyer and theseller. <strong>The</strong> vehicles’ condition may beanywhere from perfect to just barely runningand in need of a full restoration.<strong>Car</strong>s cannot be displayed on trailers,which continues the policy of pastshows.A popular publication used by bothbuyers and sellers is <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Car</strong>s ReportPrice Guide, which can be found in the<strong>F+W</strong> <strong>Media</strong> booths. While there willbe many more vehicles in the car corralthan indicated, we have published thosethat pre-registered elsewhere in thisdirectory.Toy BarnA real barn, which has 1000’s of automotive,related toys for sale – located onthe south end of the Swap Meet. ZurkoPromotions promotes Antique <strong>Show</strong>s,Antique Markets, Jewelry <strong>Show</strong>s, Craft<strong>Show</strong>s, Civil War <strong>Show</strong>s, <strong>Car</strong> <strong>Show</strong>s,Flea Markets, and more.Country CampingEntrance and exit to the campgroundwill be done off of state Hwy. 49 on toJohanson Rd.All <strong>Iola</strong> <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Car</strong> <strong>Show</strong> Inc. campsitesare in one location, and all are fairly level.In addition, one area is designatedfor units that wish to operate generatorsthroughout the evening. All other areasare designated as quiet areas.A good road system has been developedthat will continue to be updatedwith hard surface gravel year after year.Security lighting is located throughoutthe area.Two permanent restrooms are locatedon the grounds, and have wash basinfacilities nearby.A welcomed facility in the campgroundsis the showers. This buildingwill have hot water for showering, pluswash basins. Use of these showers is freewith registration.Campers will have to supply their owntowels and soap. Entrance and exit tothe campground will be done off stateHighway 49 on to Johanson Road.Swap Area<strong>The</strong>re are 4,433 10- by 30-ft. swapspaces on the grounds.<strong>The</strong>re will be no end to the manyautomotive items that can be located inthe swap area.
