434 JOURNAL FOR THE STUDY OF ANTISEMITISM [ VOL. 4:423Anthropologists studying <strong>the</strong>se people report that <strong>the</strong> remnants <strong>of</strong> suchantisemitic imageries still exist—especially in <strong>the</strong> rural sou<strong>the</strong>rn and easternregions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> country (Tokarska-Bakir, 2008), while historical researchsuggests that in <strong>the</strong> early postwar years such imageries were even morecommon (Zaremba, 2007, 2012). On <strong>the</strong> contrary; opinion poll results showthat modern, political antisemitism is still gaining popularity in contemporaryPoland.
