As for the biomass energygeneration, oil crops are primarily used as a substitute for diesel engine fuels thanks to the high-energy contentin their oils. Similarly, their main product serves as a source for the dye and paint industry. Although there aremany different oily crops used for technical purposes, i.e. rape seed (canola), soybeans, and groundnut., sunfloweris the major crop in many regions. For instance, long-term testing results have proven the feasibility of a regularturbo charged diesel engine operation on raw cold-pressed sunflower oil provided that the car is equipped witha double fuel tank system. However, liquid biofuels based on chemically derived oily compounds, known as esters,are more suitable as an environmentally friendly diesel substitute for general usage. Methyl- or ethyl-esters are usuallyblended in mixtures with crude diesel oil and/or other mineral hydrocarbons (C8 – C12) because of economicalreasons, even though operation on pure esters is possible. Diplomová práce.Brno: MENDELU Brno, 2011. 66 s.Hodnoceny byly vlivy plemene a chovu na masnou užitkovost stěžejních kategorií skotu (býci, krávy a jalovice)u 1031 kusů zvířat, která byla během jednoho roku poražena na jatkách Českomoravské vysočiny za mé osobníúčasti. Masná užitkovost byla reprezentována hodnotami zmasilosti, protučnění, hmotnosti JUT a netto přírůstku.Potvrdil se výrazný vliv chovu na masnou užitkovost všech sledovaných kategorií skotu. Pokud se týká genotypu(české strakaté plemeno, holštýnské plemeno a jejich kříženci) pak je možné konstatovat, že s rostoucím podílemholštýnské krve u mladých býků byly překvapivě zaznamenány lepší hodnoty hmotnosti JUT a netto přírůstku,navzdory klesající třídě zmasilosti. Obecně lze říci, že až na výjimky došlo u všech sledovaných zvířat k poklesutřídy zmasilosti s přibývajícím podílem holštýnské krve. Délka nadzemní části byla větší u ošetřených odrůd Yvette, Miracle a Darwin. Naproti tomu ošetřená odrůdaMocassin měla statisticky průkazně kratší nadzemní část. ISSN 0001-7213.The experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of yeast culture (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) supplementationon ruminal fermentation in twenty Holstein dairy cows divided into control and experimental groups, each groupof 10 cows. The animals received a diet based on maize silage (19 kg), alfalfa silage (15 kg), meadow hay (1.5kg), extracted rapeseed meal (1 kg) and concentrate mixture (9.5 kg). The diets were fed to the cows as a totalmixed ration (TMR). The supplement of yeast culture Levucell SC 20 (Saccharomyces cerevisiae – CNCM I-1077;min. content 2x1010 CFU.g-1) was added in the concentrate mixture in the ration fed to the experimental group ofanimals. Samples of rumen fluid were taken using a probang three hours after feeding. The obtained results indicatethat the supplementation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae culture at recommended doses had a positive effect on theruminal digestion.
