Technologists. Book of Abstracts. 1. vyd. Opatija, Croatia: Faculty of Food Technology Osijek, University ofOsijek, 2011, s. 122. ISSN 1848-2554.Relationship between root system size RSS (measured by electrical capacitance), drought, yield and grain qualitywas evaluated. The RSS of 20 wheat varieties were measured in four years at two stations and compared withyield and quality from official varieties trials at 20 stations in different agroecological conditions. Average yield inextremely dry year 2007 was significantly correlated (r2 = 0.271*) with the RSS as averaged over two locationsand three terms and with the yield in both variants (r2 = 0.285* and 0.284*). High significantly correlation in2009 was found in medium altitudes only in high-input treatment (r2 = 0.391**) and after late sowing (r2 =0.320**). Correlation in 2008 was not significant (r = -0.316) but in the lowest altitude with highest temperaturewas negative (r = -0.459*). No significant correlation was found in 2010. The RSSs were not correlated with thegrain starch content, but significantly correlated with the starch yield (r2 = 0.248*). Official evaluation of all 51varieties (not all were evaluated for RSS) showed lower grain starch contents from drier stations (66.9 and 68.4%)and from wetter ones (71.2 and 69.8%). Drought and small RSS have similar effect i.e. decrease the grain starchcontent.KOPP, R. – MAREŠ, J. – LANG, Š. – BRABEC, T. – ZIKOVÁ, A. Assessment of ranges plasma indices in rainbowtrout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) reared under conditions of intensive aquaculture. Acta UniversitatisAgriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis. 2011. sv. LIX, č. 6, s. 181–187. ISSN 1211-8516.Plasma parameters in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) from three various trout farms in the Czech Republicwere assessed using automated blood plasma analyser. Non-haemolysed serum from the heart of 48 healthy, randomlyselected fish (standard length, mean = 247.3 mm; body mass, mean = 262.18 g) was analysed for the followingplasma parameters: alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase, creatine kinase, total protein, cholinesterase, amylase, glucose, lactate, albumin, urea, cholesterol, triglycerides, lipase, Ca, Mg, P, Fe, Na, K and Cl. All data were analysed statistically such as normalityassessment by means of Kolmogorov–Smirnov test and adequate statistical testing using various parametric andnon-parametric tests for each variable. With regard to data distribution, 19 indices out of 23 (aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase, total protein, amylase, glucose, lactate, albumin, urea, cholesterol, triglycerides, Ca, Mg, P, Fe, Na, K and Cl) were normally distributed. The indices wereaffected by handling time and, accordingly to the physical and chemical properties of water. Estimates obtainedwere compared with previously reported ranges. The blood automated analyser proved to be a valuable and reliableinstrument for the estimation of plasma parameters determining normal ranges in rainbow trout.POLÁK, O. – FALTA, D. – VEČEŘA, M. – ZEJDOVÁ, P. – CHLÁDEK, G. The effect of low temparature in cowbarn microclimate on milk production of Czech Fleckvieh cows. Animal Welfare, Ethology and HousingSystems. [online]. In Animal Welfare, Ethology and Housing Systems. 2011. sv. 7, č. 3, s. 38–43.The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of low temperatures in cow barn on milk production of CzechFleckvieh cows. Every day in the period from november to february (1.11.2008 – 28.2.2009) was monitored dailytemperature in the barn (every 15 minutes) by HOBO sensors (Onset) and daily milk yield (kg) on private farmin Radesinska Svratka (Highland Region). Milk originated by 284 Czech Flekvieh cows with average production7.500 kg per lactation on various lactation (1. – 8.). Between the measured air temperatures in stable (maximum, minimum and mean) and daily milk production has been found positive correlation which was strongest at themaximum air temperature (r = 0.51). We have found slightly lower correlation at the average air temperature (r =0.46) and the lowest correlation was found at the minimum air temperature (r = 0.38). It can be stated (in contrastto summer season) that increasing of temperature in winter season has positive impact on milk production whereasthe limited factor is minimal stable temperature.MLEJNKOVÁ, V. – HRBEK, J. – KALHOTKA, L. – PŘICHYSTALOVÁ, J. – DOLEŽAL, P. Microbial populating of silagemade from Jerusalem artichoke. In IX Miedzynarodowe Warsztaty Akademickie Rolnictwo, Technika,Zdrowie i Źycie. 1. vyd. Opole – Glucholazy: 2011, s. 11.The paper concern issues of silages where Jerusalem artichoke was used. In experiment, there were used two kindsof Jerusalem artichoke (latin name Helianthus tuberosus) – Jerusalem artichoke red and Jerusalem artichoke white.Part of original material was taken and silaged as a control. Another part was treated with biological and chemicaladditives (apply according recommendations). Total count of microorganisms, lactic acid bacteria, Clostridiumperfringens, family Enterobacteriaceae, moulds and yeast were determined. From the view of moulds and yeast, thesamples were found to be satisfactory, this fact indicates use of a proper material. In silage, Clostridium perfringenswas found less than 10 CFU/g which indicates probable slight contamination of material with soil. Enterobacteriaceaewere found in minimal abundance.63
