The section must document prior participation orinstruction in responsible conduct <strong>of</strong> research during the applicant's current careerstage (including the date instruction was last completed) and propose a plan to eitherreceive instruction in responsible conduct <strong>of</strong> research or participate as a courselecturer, etc., depending on the applicant's career stage. <strong>Application</strong>s must include adescription, limited to no more than one page, <strong>of</strong> the sponsoring institution’s plansto provide, and the fellowship applicant’s plans for obtaining, instruction in theresponsible conduct <strong>of</strong> research, including the format, subject matter, facultyparticipation, duration and frequency <strong>of</strong> instruction. The plan should be tailored tothe needs <strong>of</strong> the fellow, and may go beyond formal institutional courses and provideopportunities for the individual to develop their own scholarly understanding <strong>of</strong> theethical issues associated with their research activities and their impact on society.The role <strong>of</strong> the sponsor in the instruction in responsible conduct <strong>of</strong> research must bedescribed.Responsible Conduct <strong>of</strong> Research is limited to one page.See Part III, 1.16 for additional information.Save this information in a single file in a location you remember.
