SETTING AN IP ADDRESSThis section describes how to configure an IP interface for managementaccess to the switch over the network. This switch sup<strong>ports</strong> IP Version4, and can be managed simultaneously through either of the addresstypes. You can manually configure a specific IPv4 address or direct theswitch to obtain an IPv4 address from a DHCP server when it ispowered on.SETTING ANIPV4ADDRESSThe IPv4 address for the switch could be obtained via DHCP Server forVLAN 1. To manually configure an address, you need to change theswitch's default settings to values that are compatible with your network.You may also need to a establish a default gateway between the switchand management stations that exist on another network segment.WEB INTERFACETo configure an IP address and SNTP in the web interface:1. Click System, IP Configuration.2. Specify the IPv4 settings, and enable DNS proxy service if required.3. Click Apply.Figure 4-4: IP & Time ConfigurationNOTE: An IPv4 address for this switch could be obtained via DHCPServer. If the switch does not receive a IP Address from a DHCP server,it will default to the IP address 192.168.1.1 and subnet mask255.255.255.0You can manually configure a specific IP address, or direct the device toobtain an address from a DHCP server. Valid IPv4 addresses consist offour decimal numbers, 0 to 255, separated by periods. Anything otherthan this format will not be accepted by the CLI program.
