56 Sōtō Zencompany of those who pursue wealth and power, 4) to practicemeditation and to perfect religious training for the sake of training,5) to teach the necessity of continuous religious trainingand enlightenment which are one and the same thing, 6) totransmit correctly the Teaching of the Buddha and Ancestorsfrom master to disciple and to cause this Transmission to growever wider, 7) to harmonize theory and practice and not tocling to either the ideal or the actual and 8) to express our gratitudeby diligent application of our religious practice in everyactivity of our daily life.
