This standard is intended to ensure that the equipment supplied is constructed, maintained,repaired and employed in a manner that assures the safe and effective transportation <strong>of</strong>equipment.1. The supplier shall, on delivery <strong>of</strong> the equipment to the project site, provide to the site managerdocumentary evidence that: Identifies each assembly or major component by a unique identifier;Lists each assembly supplied by its common description and its unique identifier; and is certified bythe signature <strong>of</strong> an authorized representative <strong>of</strong> the supplier that the equipment supplied isreleased for service. The name <strong>of</strong> the authorized person shall be legible, the certification shall bedated and the conditions for continued certification and duration <strong>of</strong> certification specified.2. The supplier shall ensure that each assembly remains in serviceable condition during use inaccordance with the certification. Where serviceability cannot be assured, the assembly shallbe removed from service.3. The Prime Contractor reserves the right to inspect and audit the methods, systems andprocedures employed by the supplier to:Certify supplied equipment;Inspect, maintain and repair any assembly;Manage and control each assembly and its components.4. The Prime Contractor reserves the right to specify a particular assembly by manufacturer ormodel and to require the repair or removal from service <strong>of</strong> any assembly not judged to besuitable for task or not in condition to effectively or safely fulfill any requirement.Each bag assembly shall attach a metal ring onto its closure lanyard to facilitate the attachment<strong>of</strong> the bag assembly to a carousel bag deployment mechanism.5. All components <strong>of</strong> a system (the automatic bag runners and bag assemblies are examples <strong>of</strong> asystem) shall be comprised <strong>of</strong> compatible components. Where assemblies are employed incombination, no combination <strong>of</strong> assemblies shall impair the operation <strong>of</strong> the system.6. The supplier shall, on request, provide documentary evidence that the supplied equipment iscapable <strong>of</strong> safely and effectively fulfilling its function.OGC <strong>IBP</strong> | Revision Date: Sept 2009 DRAFT51
