Overview of ResultsThe ERTR Programme has achieved significant results towards its ProgrammeOutputs in the first year of the Programme. Strengthening governancecapacity for sustainablerecovery <strong>and</strong>risk-reduction• 4,790 tents distributed to IDPs <strong>and</strong> returning IDPs• More than 1,900 housing units planned to be completed or under constructionby end December 2005• Joint study with OXFAM in L<strong>and</strong> Rights undertaken• Support for BPN/World Bank RALAS project including trainings benefitingover 750 community mapping facilitators• Support for formulation of housing <strong>and</strong> settlement guidelines <strong>and</strong> policies• TA for drafting of policy on renters <strong>and</strong> l<strong>and</strong> policy, <strong>and</strong> preparation forconsultation with district authorities• 100,000 leaflets prepared by BRR, <strong>UNDP</strong> <strong>and</strong> UN-HABITAT on housing/ l<strong>and</strong> rights <strong>and</strong> entitlements• Shelter Coordination Working Group active <strong>and</strong> operational with Government,civil society <strong>and</strong> UN agencies participating• Ten technical advisors provided for early Government reconstruction planningprocess• Support for establishment of BRR Anti-Corruption Unit• Over 20 local government departments receiving direct support• Establishment of <strong>Recovery</strong> <strong>Aceh</strong>-Nias (RAN) Database through regional<strong>UNDP</strong> project• Provincial Governance Working Group Established• Governance Workshop with BRR supported in November• 40,000 wind-up radios being delivered to improve information outreach• Civil society capacity building assessment completed through ERTR withnew programme being launched7
