IntroductionThis chapter describes the general procedures <strong>of</strong> h<strong>and</strong>ling levels, pan,EQ <strong>and</strong> effects to create a final stereo mix. Mixing is done in differentwindows in <strong>Cubasis</strong> <strong>VST</strong>, mainly the <strong>VST</strong> Channel Mixer (for audio)<strong>and</strong> the MIDI Track Mixer (for MIDI).❐The MIDI Track Mixer is designed to interact with MIDI instruments compatiblewith any <strong>of</strong> the st<strong>and</strong>ards GM (General MIDI), GS or XG. However,even if your instrument is not GM/GS/XG compatible, you may still beable to use some <strong>of</strong> the functions in the mixer.Mixing AudioSetting Levels1. Set up your audio tracks <strong>and</strong> possibly the locators so that they playback the section you want.2. Open the <strong>VST</strong> Channel Mixer by selecting “<strong>VST</strong> Channel Mixer” fromthe Panels menu, by clicking the <strong>VST</strong> Channel Mixer icon on the Toolbaror by pressing [Ctrl] <strong>and</strong> [*] on the numeric keypad.The <strong>VST</strong> Channel mixer window opens. This contains “channel strips” for the audiochannels, <strong>and</strong> a Master section for adjusting the level <strong>of</strong> the final mix.CUBASIS <strong>VST</strong>13 – 196 Mixing
