<strong>Basic</strong> <strong>Assessment</strong> <strong>Report</strong>The traffic related criteria used in the investigation included the following:CRITERIA1 Primarily aimed at outbound traffic but should be accessible to inbound traffic as well2 Exposed to the highest traffic volume passing by3 Good visibility from surrounding roads4 Ease of entry5 Ease of egress6 Minimum of right turns7 Accesses and egress should not be affected by external queue back-up8 Road safety9 Site topography10 Big enough for internal circulation11 Should be able to accommodate other uses (convenience shop/ fast food)12. Must be able to erect a prime sign on the site13 Convenient for car hire returns, for refueling by public (to avoid car hire refueling charge and toretain control of amount of fuel added)14 Acceptable to Traffic AuthoritiesThe sites were visited and each was assessed subjectively against the criteria listed above. A ranking of between 0 and 10 (10 being the highest score and 0 the lowest)was noted for every criterion for each site and the rankings were then summated to give a total ranking for each site. The sites were then further ranked, with 1 being bestand 10 worst.
