ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITYTo maintain a safe and productive work environment, Tijuana Flats expects employees to be reliable andto be punctual in reporting for scheduled work. Absenteeism and tardiness place a burden on otheremployees and on Tijuana Flats. In the rare instances when employees cannot avoid being late to workor are unable to work as scheduled, they should notify their manager as soon as possible in advance ofthe anticipated tardiness or absence.Poor attendance and excessive tardiness are disruptive. Either may lead to disciplinary action, up to andincluding termination of employment.PERSONAL APPEARANCEDress, grooming, and personal cleanliness standards contribute to the morale of all employees and affectthe business image Tijuana Flats presents to guests and visitors.During business hours, employees are expected to present a clean and neat appearance and to dressaccording to the requirements of their positions.Tijuana Flats employee uniform standards are as follows:All Employees are required to wear a Tijuana Flats logo-ed shirt (that has been distributed by Hot Foods,Inc, only) that is clean and presentable. If the shirt is loose fitting and long enough to be tucked in, itmust be tucked in and worn with a belt (fitted shirts can be worn un-tucked). All shirts should be wornas designed (no cutting, tying, etc.). Uniform bottoms must also be clean and presentable with no frays,tears, or stains and should fit the employee properly. Acceptable uniform bottoms include, jeans, slacksor shorts; skirts are acceptable for females. Employees are required to wear closed toed, slip-resistantshoes, with socks. If an employee’s hair is longer than shoulder length it must be pulled back. All facialhair should be neat and trimmed.When an employee is off duty and out of uniform he or she should act as and be treated as a guest ofTijuana Flats. He or she is not permitted to enter through the kitchen door, go into the kitchen or gobehind the cashier stations.Slip Resistant Shoes: Tijuana Flats requires that all employees, both FOH and BOH wear slipresistant shoes that fully cover your feet while at work. (Examples:sandals, ballet flats, Croc style/rubber clog style shoes with holes in thetop are not acceptable.) The appropriate shoes can be purchased locallyat Wal-Mart or Kohl’s Department stores. Tijuana Flats also offers Shoesfor Crews which can be paid for through payroll deductions.
