But itis not a bone, or another mouth, it’s thehairy flesh of his own arm. It’s as if deVries has a small motor inside, operatedinexpertly by another person, ormalfunctioning. I can’t be alone in gettingthe impression that something is awry withde Vries because just then one of theworkers comes up with a hand raised,
