6 Revelation Uncoveredwas a type of God, The Father, with his willingness to sacrificehis son, Isaac. The sacrifices, with The Lamb as Christ and all theother offerings as the peace offering, literally pictures God’s restor The Garden of Eden – “restored” (Revelation 21 and 22).Yes, the temple, itself, was a shadow of Christ bringing humanityto The Real Mercy Seat in The Holy of Holies (Hebrews 9:9). Theentire Law was a true shadow of things to come hopefully to bringIsrael to “repentance” and a change of heart. But, they failed andthey never did repent. A vail was over their eyes blinding them tounderstand God’s real purpose of The Law. The Law was only a“schoolmaster” to try to teach them by doing homework so theycould pass their test, and the test they were to pass was to “repent”(I Timothy 1:7-10). The temple, which covers one third ofThe Law, was the largest part of the shadow of The Law. Withoutthe temple you cannot keep The Law (James 2:10).The TempleIn The Torah or The Law, much of it covers the temple and itsfurnishings. Since the entire Law was a “schoolmaster,” thetemple was to be a “schoolmaster” as well. It was to be the exactreplica of the true temple in heaven (Hebrews 9:9). The Lawtold Israel how to be righteous and a witness of God to the world. If Israel obeyed, they would be accepted by God even though theywere still carnal. This Law was given to Israel because they wereunrighteous (I Timothy 1:7-10). Truly, keeping The Letter of TheLaw could never change their human nature. They were still carnal. The Law was only a schoolmaster to teach them how carnalthey were (Romans 5:20), so they could change and come toChrist. The Torah or The Law pictured Jesus, The Christ, and sodid the temple. The Law was only a shadow. Christ was therock (God’s glory) or “the shekinah” (I Corinthians 10:4).
