They already worshipped God “in Spirit.” In67 A.D., God’s “Spirit” or “presence” started to leave the temple,and finally, with the destruction in 70 A.D., ended The Old Covenantand all its demands. From this point on, God only wantedto be worshipped “in Spirit” just as Christ has explained to you.Keeping The LetterIs it a sin to keep God’s Laws in The Letter today? Of course not.To do good, humanly, is not wrong. Remember, in Galatians, Paulsaid those who live in God’s commandments in The Letter willhave a good life. What is important for Christians to know is TheLetter of The Law is not a requirement in order to receive salvation.It is good not to commit murder, steal, covet, etc. It givesone a good life by eliminating all sorts of problems, such as beingfree of human worries and needing to pay penalties. However,keeping The Letter of The Law cannot make you righteous orjustified (perfect or blameless). Only Christ can do that for eachof you.Most of The Works of The Law are impossible to do anyway. Youcan’t keep The Holy Days or tithe lawfully without the temple.God made sure of that. To keep The Holy Days according to TheLaw, God’s presence must be there. When the temple was destroyed,God’s presence or “shekinah” wasn’t there. One couldno longer keep The Holy Days according to The Law becauseGod’s presence was gone.
