In Greek, the word“ordinances,” conveys the meaning of “works - which had legalrights.” Everything done in the temple by The Priests with eachtemple piece carrying a legal meaning by God as a divine orGodly service even though it was only a worldly (type) of sanctuary.Paul, first, describes The Holy Place where the candlestickwas kept.Paul states this Holy Place had a candlestick, a table and the shewbreadcalled the sanctuary or holy place (Hebrews 9:22). A veildivided The Holy Place from The Holy of Holies (Verse 3). TheHoly of Holies contained the “Golden Censer,” The Ark of TheCovenant, The Golden Pot with manna, Aaron’s Rod that buddedand the tables of the covenant or The Ten Commandmentsin stone (Verse 4).Only The High Priest could go into The Holy of Holies, once ayear, because The Holy Spirit was signifying the way into TheHoliest “of all” was not possible (Hebrews 9:7-11). This firsttabernacle was merely a shadow of the real temple in heaven.No one legally had access to God, The Father, because they werestill carnal. They, therefore, could not be forgiven for their sinsand receive mercy. Paul said all these divine services in this templewere only a figure or a type of the real temple in heaven. Allthe sacrifices, gifts, etc. could not make those worshipping inthe temple perfect. These services couldn’t change one’s conscienceor heart to have God’s Laws written in their heartsand minds. One could be keeping the entire Letter of The Law,which was only a shadow, but attempting to keep them could notmake them Holy or perfect as God (Matthew 5:48).
