Additionally, the call went out to duplicate the initiative this time at Carswell ARS, TX, in order to provide financial management support for the 926 th FW at New Orleans, LA. 56 2 Sep 05 The 94 th Airlift Wing Commander (Dobbins ARB, GA) requested Critical Stress Management members to support relief efforts at Dobbins. The 710 th Medical Squadron (Offutt AFB, NE) provided volunteers. 57 2–9 Sep 05 A total of 16 medical personnel from the 433 rd Aeromedical Staging Squadron (ASTS)(Lackland AFB, TX) helped support a 24 hour, 7 days-aweek operation with the active duty’s 59 th Aeromedical Staging Flight at Lackland AFB and Kelly Field, TX. 433 rd personnel provided care and ground transport between treatment facilities for hurricane evacuees. 58 3 Sep 05 The 507 th ARW (Tinker AFB, OK) had one crew on alert for a C-29. 3 Sep 05 HQ AFRC Aeromedical Evacuation Branch staged four additional aeromedical evacuation crews from McGuire AFB, NJ, to Lackland AFB, TX. 60 3 Sep 05 Fifteen aeromedical evacuation sorties resulted in patient movement of 310 litters, 260 ambulatory patients, and 5 attendants from LAIAP, LA. 61 3 Sep 05 Commander Poole, US Navy, (Naval Air Station Fort Worth, Joint Reserve Base EOC CMD) requested security forces personnel to support C-130/40/9 aircraft recovering refugees. 62 3 Sep 05 AFRC rescue HH-60Gs flew 7+ sorties for 51.5+ hours and 654 saves. AFRC aeromedical evacuation crews flew 15 sorties, transporting 369 litters, 265 ambulatory patients as well as 17 attendants. Patients were transported to Nashville, TN; Birmingham, AL; Dobbins ARB, GA; Kelly Field, TX; Navy Forth Worth, TX; and other cities. 63 3-6 Sep 05 Five personnel from the 73 rd APS, Carswell ARS, TX, were part of the initial damage assessment team at NAS JRB New Orleans, LA. 64 4 Sep 05 On 2 Sep 05, the 920 th RQW (Patrick AFB, FL) requested airlift support to provide airlift capability of equipment and personnel between Jackson, MS, and required airfields in support of Hurricane Katrina rescue and recovery. The airlift was expected to be needed until 920 th deployment was terminated. Airlift anticipated needs were for as a minimum one channel mission per day with ability for a maximum crew day. Wing planners anticipated that one C-130 and two aircrews would meet their needs.
