3 Sep 05 Fifteen aeromedical evacuation sorties resulted in patient movement of<br />

310 litters, 260 ambula<strong>to</strong>ry patients, and 5 attendants from LAIAP, LA. 61<br />

3 Sep 05 Commander Poole, US Navy, (Naval <strong>Air</strong> Station Fort Worth, Joint<br />

Reserve Base EOC CMD) requested security forces personnel <strong>to</strong> support<br />

C-130/40/9 aircraft recovering refugees. 62<br />

3 Sep 05 AFRC rescue HH-60Gs flew 7+ sorties for 51.5+ hours and 654 saves.<br />

AFRC aeromedical evacuation crews flew 15 sorties, transporting 369<br />

litters, 265 ambula<strong>to</strong>ry patients as well as 17 attendants. Patients were<br />

transported <strong>to</strong> Nashville, TN; Birmingham, AL; Dobbins ARB, GA; Kelly<br />

Field, TX; Navy Forth Worth, TX; and other cities. 63<br />

3-6 Sep 05 Five personnel from the 73 rd APS, Carswell ARS, TX, were part of the<br />

initial damage assessment team at NAS JRB New Orleans, LA. 64<br />

4 Sep 05 On 2 Sep 05, the 920 th RQW (Patrick AFB, FL) requested airlift support <strong>to</strong><br />

provide airlift capability of equipment and personnel between Jackson,<br />

MS, and required airfields in support of Hurricane Katrina rescue and<br />

recovery. The airlift was expected <strong>to</strong> be needed until 920 th deployment<br />

was terminated. <strong>Air</strong>lift anticipated needs were for as a minimum one<br />

channel mission per day with ability for a maximum crew day. Wing<br />

planners anticipated that one C-130 and two aircrews would meet their<br />

needs. C-130 airlift support for 920 th RQW personnel and equipment was<br />

worked directly by HQ AFRC <strong>Air</strong> Operations Branch (HQ<br />

AFRC/DOOM) and the 920 th RQW. 65<br />
