Ill Winds: Air Force Reserve's Response to Hurricanes

4 Sep 05 22 nd Air Force personnel expected up to 2000 evacuees transiting Dobbins
ARB, GA, within 24 hours. 22 AF/CAT requested assistance from HQ
AFRC CAT and HQ AFRC Air Operations Branch (HQ AFRC/DOOM) to
establish a daily shuttle between Dobbins ARB, GA, and Keesler AFB,
MS. This initiative would help facilitate the relocation of the 403 rd WG
flying operation to Dobbins ARB, GA. 68
4 Sep 05 All 22 AF available aeromedical evacuation crews had been tasked. 69
4 Sep 05 Eleven aeromedical evacuation sorties resulted in patient movement of 275
litters, 130 ambulatory, and 6 attendants from LAIAP, LA. Total patients
moved to date comprised 729 litters, 481 ambulatory, and 15 attendants. 70
4 Sep 05 All 22AF C-130 crews and aircraft tasked by Air Mobility Command
TACC for aeromedical evacuation were staged at Kelly AFB and awaited
launch authorization. 71
4-6 Sep 05 One civilian volunteer from 22 AF, Dobbins ARB, GA, augmented the
403 rd WG command post for Keesler recovery actions.
