To ensure the existing level of local shop provision throughoutthe borough is maintained and complements the town centrenetwork, development resulting in the loss of A1 shops outsidedesignated centres will only be supported where:DRAFT DRAFTCore Strategy Spatial Policy 01 sets out the policy framework for thetown centre hierarchy. Further guidance is required for local shops whichLocal shopare not located within a town centre. These shops serve a local retailneed and are especially important for people with mobility issues.
