2.5 Chilled Water Self-Contained SystemsGuide Specifications—Nominal 3 or 5 ton Environmental Control SystemChilled Water CoilThe cooling coil shall have a minimum of _____ sq. ft. This mode does notoperate based on the most demanding unit on the network. The return temperature and humiditysensor readings of all units in operation (fan On) are averaged by the master unit, Unit #1, and usedfor control. The master unit will send the performance requests unitwise according to unit numbers,rotated by one unit every 24 hours.Teamwork Mode 2, which is designed to prevent units within a group from working against eachother or “fighting.” It is best applied in large rooms with unbalanced heat loads. In Teamwork Mode 2,all parameters are shared equal to Mode 1, and Unit #1 averages all of the available unit sensorreadings on the network to define whether there is a cooling, heating, dehumidification orhumidification request.Standby (Lead/Lag), which allows one or more units to be set as “Running” and “Standby” foractivation in case of an alarm. This function also allows the units to be programmed in a rotation tohelp ensure “Standby” unit operation.Cascade Operation, which allows additional units to be staged-on based on the temperature orhumidity requirement.66
