Build a strong base
for your career
as you shape the
world around you
In the coming decades, the world will
face significant challenges. We will
need to sustainably provide food, water,
energy, infrastructure, technology and
materials for growing populations and to
meet society’s needs, while minimising
the impacts of waste and pollution on
the environment.
With UQ’s wide range of quality resources
and specialisations, and access to more
award-winning teachers, degree programs
and researchers than any other university
in Queensland, you will have the best
opportunity to be part of the solution.
Our strong links with industry,
government and international partners
ensure that our programs are world-class,
industry-relevant, and provide workexperiences
in Australia — several of which are unique
to Queensland, such as Mining, Materials,
Chemical, and Metallurgical Engineering.
Our Information and Communications
Technology programs offer a
comprehensive range of studies in
hardware, software and multimedia
design, and reflect the diverse and
work together on real-life design projects
while taking advantage of the newly
refurbished studios and laboratories.
Excellence in teaching
Academic staff within the disciplines of
engineering, architecture and ICT are
internationally recognised as providing world’s
best practice in undergraduate teaching
and learning, yet manage to lead pioneering
research programs at the same time. As experts
in their field, our lecturers integrate industryrelevant,
world-class research with their teaching
materials.
World-class facilities
World-class research facilities in engineering
and information technology enable you to
fulfil your potential as the next generation
of innovators. The faculty is undertaking an
unprecedented building and refurbishment
program which has seen upgrades to much of
UQ’s engineering precinct and architecture and
information technology spaces. Construction
work has begun on the $130 million Advanced
