Il Palazzo dei Giureconsulti è uno degli elementi fondamentali della Piazza
dei Mercanti, centro topografico della Milano medievale e cuore delle
attività economiche e sociali di quei tempi. La costruzione della Piazza dei
Mercanti fu decisa nel 1228, i lavori cominciarono nel 1562, su progetto di
Vincenzo Seregnini e si sviluppava attorno alla Torre civica del Broletto.
In questo quadrilatero per quasi sei secoli – dal Duecento al Settecento
– Milano ebbe il suo centro di riferimento per gli scambi commerciali e le
istituzioni comunali.
Nel 1911, la Camera di Commercio acquistò l’intero palazzo per farne la
propria sede. La struttura di Palazzo Affari è disposta su quattro piani per
una superficie totale di quasi 4000 mq.

The Palazzo Giureconsulti is one of the fundmental elements of the Piazza
dei Mercanti, the topographical centre of Medieval Milan and the heart of
all economic and social activities of those times.
The construction of the Mercanti Square, which is built around the civic
Broletto Tower, was decided in 1228, while the effective works began
in 1562, led by Vincenzo Seregnini. For about six centuries, from 1200 to
1700, right in this quadrilateral, Milan has had its point of reference for
all the city commercial and institutional exchanges. The Camera di Commercio
bought the whole palace in 1911, to make it its own seat. The
structure of the Palazzo Affari is set of four foregrounds, along a global
surface of around 4000 mq.
