Yijaaa!!! La Leyenda continUa con el Calgary Stampede

Este mes se celebra el Día del Padre, el 19 de
Junio, con suerte muchos recibiremos regalos
y estaremos con nuestros hijos. Gracias a Dios
por ellos. Por lo tanto considero necesario y
casi inevitable escribir acerca de la Familia, más
específicamente de los Valores Familiares.
Actualmente se están haciendo y discutiendo
muchas preguntas acerca de los Valores
Familiares, donde el argumento del futuro de
la familia se ha traslado al tema del matrimonio
entre personas del mismo sexo.
El futuro de la Familia está en crísis en Norte
Amérifa y debido a que vivimos aquí, y nuestros
hijos están creciendo aquí, viendo, leyendo,
oyendo y probablemente confundiéndose
debido a todos estos mensajes cruzados que
debemos de preocuparnos. Es verdad que la
mayoría de nosotros tenemos fuertes valores
familiares, pero la pregunta es: ¿Estamos
enseñando y asegurándonos de que nuestros
hijos vivan bajo estos fuertes valores morales
y familiares? ¿Nos cansamos de hablar con
ellos? Yo sé que algunas veces he querido tirar
la toalla, ya sabe?, como en el boxeo?, pero al
siguiente día estoy listo de nuevo. Debemos
de tomar un descanso pero nunca desistir.
Dos de las organizaciones legales con más
influencia, el American Law Institute y Law
Commission of Canada están proponiendo dar
respuesta a muchas preguntas que de antemano
son inaceptables como: Puede un niño tener
3 padres legalemente? La paternidad debería
determinarse rutinariamente por alguna forma
que no sea la biológica? Deberíamos otorgar
el derecho al matrimonio a parejas del mismo
sexo? O deberíamos de abolir de una vez por
todas el matrimonio como institución legal?
Estamos alejándonos de la razón histórica, los
niños deben ser criados por su propia madre
y padre.
Se ha preguntado alguna vez ¿Cómo será la
próxima generación? Yo pienso que si elegimos
enredarnos con los valores fundamentales,
veremos muchos reclamos de niños que
crecieron dentro de familias no tradicionales,
algunos talvez dados en adopción a parejas
del mismo sexo? ¿Les estamos dando a
elegir? Yo creo que esto aumentará más la
fragmentación de la familia.
También creo que deberíamos de cuidar no
sólo nuestros valores familiares, pero también
nuestros valores culturales. Me gusta mucho
mi idioma y creo que necesitamos motivar a
nuestros hijos a aprender Español, ellos no
deben sentir pena, al contrario deben sentirse
orugullosos de su habilidad de hablar otro
idioma. Es nuestra tarea y responsabilidad
asegurarnos que sepan Español.
Los voy a dejar con la que considero una
acertada descripción de Ann Landers sobre lo
que los hijos piensan de los padres.
Mi padre cuando yo tenía:
Menos de 8 años:
Mi papá puede hacer cualquier cosa.
Mi papá sabe mucho.
A los 12 años:
naturalmente, papá no sabe nada de esto. Es
demasiado viejo para recordar su niñez.
Entre los 14 y los 21 años:
No prestes atención a mi papá. Es demasiado
anticuado.
A los 25 años:
Papá sabe un poco sobre esto, pero es natural,
porque ha vivido mucho tiempo.
Entre los 30 y 40 años:
Me pregunto qué hubiera hecho papá en
este caso. Era tan sensato y tenía mucha
experiencia.
A los 50 años:
Daría cualquier cosa porque papá estuviera
ahora aquí, para poder discutir esto con él.
Es una lástima que no haya apreciado lo
inteligente que era. Pude haber aprendido
mucho de él.
This month Father’s Day is celebrated,
on June 19th, hopefully many of us will
receive gifts and our kids will be around us.
Thanks God for them. Therefore I consider
necessary and almost inevitable to write
about the Family, more specifically Family
Values.
Currently many questions are being asked
and discussed about Family Values, where
the argument about the future of family has
moved to same-sex marriage.
The future of the Family is in crisis in North
America and because this is where we
live, and our kids are growing up looking,
reading, listening and probably getting all
confused from all this mixed messages that
we should be concerned. It is true that most
of us have very strong family values, but
the big question is: Are we teaching and
making sure our kids understand and live
by strong moral Family Values? Do we get
tired of talking to them? I know sometimes
I feel like throwing the towel, you know,
like in a boxing fight, but the next day I
am ready again. We must take a break but
never quit.
Two of the most influential legal
organizations, the American Law Institute
and the Law Commission of Canada are
proposing to answer questions for many
of us already unacceptable, such as Can
a child have three legal parents?, Should
parenthood be routinely determined by
something other than biology? Should we
extend the right to marriage to same-sex
couples? To groups of people? Or should
we abolish marriage as a legal institution
all together?
We are missing a historical point, children
should be raised by their own mother and
father.
Have you ever ask yourself how the next
generation will be like? I think if we choose
to mess around with fundamental values,
we will see lots of claims from kids raised
within non-traditional families, some
maybe given for adoption to same-sex
couples? Are we giving them a choice? I
believe this will bring further fragmentation
of ‘families’.
I also think that we should take care not only
of family values but of our cultural values.
I like my language very much and I believe
we need to start encouraging our children
to learn Spanish, they shouldn’t feel shame
of being able to speak another language,
on the contrary they should be proud of
their skill. It is our duty and responsibility
to make sure they know Spanish.
I am going to leave you with the right
description that Ann Landers makes about
how children think of their father. (She used
to write for newspapers around the world) .
My father when I was...
8 years old or younger:
My Dad can make almost anything.
My Dad knows a lot.
12 years old:
Of course, my Dad knows nothing about it.
He is too old to remember his childhood.
Between 14 - 21 years old:
Don’t pay attention to my Dad. He is oldfashioned
25 years old:
Dad knows a something about it, but of
course he had live for so long.
Between 30 - 40 yrs. old:
I wonder what would my dad have done in
this situation. He was so wise and had lots
of experience.
At 50:
I would give anything to have my dad here
now, to be able to discuss this with him. I
am sorry I didn’t appreciate his intelligence.
I could have learn a lot from him.
