Indianapolis lost its first home game dating back to September 23,
2012 following a 24-20 defeat at the hands of the Miami Dolphins.
After falling behind 14-3 in the first quarter, the Colts tallied two
touchdowns in the second stanza behind 315 total net yards in the
first half. Tight end Coby Fleener contributed with a three-yard
score while running back Ahmad Bradshaw logged his first touchdown
as a member of the Colts on a one-yard run. On Miami’s first
possession of the third quarter, linebacker Jerrell Freeman sacked
Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill and forced a fumble which
was recovered by Joe Lefeged. The Colts moved the ball 19 yards
on the ensuing possession to set up kicker Adam Vinatieri’s 38-
yard field goal, giving Indianapolis a 20-17 lead. Miami was able to
respond later in the quarter when Charles Clay found the end zone
on a one-yard run. Clay (109) and Dolphins wide receiver Mike
Wallace (115) each contributed with 100-yard receiving performances.
Down four points in the fourth quarter, Andrew Luck and the
Colts made a late push before their final drive stalled at the Dolphins
23-yard line. Indianapolis wide receiver T.Y. Hilton contributed
with a career-high 124 receiving yards while Freeman and Robert
Mathis each finished with 2.0 sack performances in the loss.

WEEK 2 vs. MIAMI GAME NOTES
•The Colts are now 10-2 in games decided by one possession or less dating
back to 2012.
•Indianapolis compiled 315 total net yards in the first half of play (241 passing,
74 rushing), which is the most for the team in a first half dating back to
December 5, 2004 against Tennessee (338 yards). The team finished with
448 net yards, which is the tied for the fifth-highest total under Head Coach
Chuck Pagano (2012-13).
•The Colts posted their first touchdown of the game in the second quarter
when quarterback Andrew Luck found tight end Coby Fleener for a threeyard
score. The touchdown cut Miami’s lead to 14-10. The 10-play, 80-yard
scoring drive also included a 40-yard reception from Fleener.
•On its final possession of the first half, Indianapolis drove 78 yards on six
plays and regained a 17-14 lead when Ahmad Bradshaw scored on a oneyard
run. It was Bradshaw’s first touchdown as a member of the Colts. On
the drive, wide receiver T.Y. Hilton hauled in an impressive 47-yard leaping
catch, taking the team down to the Dolphins 13-yard line.
•Andrew Luck completed 25-of-43 passes for 321 yards, one touchdown
and one interception for a 79.7 quarterback rating. With 43 attempts, Luck
passed Earl Morrall for eighth place all-time on the Colts career passing attempts
list. He also tied Johnny Unitas, Bert Jones and Jeff George (eight)
for 40-plus passing attempt games in franchise history. With 25 completions,
Luck also passed Morrall for eighth place in career completions (382) and
tied George (seven) for the fourth-most 300-plus passing yardage games
in team history. He threw for 242 yards in the first half of play, which is his
second-highest total for a first half (273 yards against Miami on November
4, 2012) in his career. Luck attempted 165 passes dating back to last season
before his first interception in the fourth quarter. It was the longest active
streak in the NFL prior to the pick.
•Wide receiver Reggie Wayne caught five passes for 46 yards against
Miami. With his receiving yardage total, Wayne passed Andre Reed for 12th
place on the league’s all-time receiving yardage list (13,205). Wayne improved
his current NFL record of consecutive games with at least three
catches to 66. He also upped his streak of consecutive regular season
games with at least one reception to 114. He leads all active wide receivers
and ranks second among all active players in consecutive games played
with 184. He passed Marvin Harrison for the seventh-most games played
in Colts history, now with 191.
•Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton finished the game with a career-high 124 receiving
yards while tying a career-high in receptions (six). He topped his previous
career-high of 113 yards all in the first half. It was the highest first half
receiving yardage total dating back to December 6, 2009 when Pierre Garcon
recorded 126 yards against Tennessee. With the 100-yard contest,
Hilton tied Jim Mutscheller for 10th place in Colts history with his sixth career
100-yard game.
•Tight end Coby Fleener contributed with four catches for 69 yards and one
touchdown against the Dolphins. The 40-yard catch was the longest of his
career while the touchdown was the third of his career and the first since
the 2012 regular season finale against the Houston Texans.
•In his first start with the Colts, running back Ahmad Bradshaw led the
team in rushing with 65 yards on 15 carries and added three receptions for
19 yards. Bradshaw added his first touchdown as a member of the Colts in
the second quarter to give Indianapolis a 17-14 lead. Bradshaw’s effort was
part of a Colts rushing offense that generated 133 yards on 26 carries for a
5.1 average. The average is the highest for the Colts under Coach Pagano.
•Linebacker Robert Mathis logged 2.0 sacks against the Dolphins and
added a forced fumble on his first quarterback takedown in the third quarter.
The sacks moved him past Henry Thomas for 37th place on the NFL’s alltime
sack list (94.5) as he registered his 21st career multiple-sack contest.
Mathis has also totaled sacks in three consecutive games against Miami
dating back to 2009. The forced fumble for Mathis was the 41st of his career.
•Linebacker Jerrell Freeman posted a sack and forced fumble on the Dolphins
opening offensive possession of the second half. The fumble was recovered
by safety Joe Lefeged. The turnover led to a Colts 38-yard field
goal by Adam Vinatieri. Freeman added his second sack of the game in
the third quarter, which led to a Dolphins punt. The quarterback takedowns
marked the first multiple-sack game for Freeman in his career, while the
forced fumble was the second of his career.
•Colts linebackers Pat Angerer and Bjoern Werner split the team’s first
sack of the game when they brought down Ryan Tannehill for an eight-yard
loss in the second quarter. The sack came on a third down and forced a
Dolphins punt. The half sack for Werner was the first of his NFL career. It
was also career sack number 2.5 for Angerer.
•Safety LaRon Landry tied for the team lead in tackles with linebacker Pat
Angerer (11). It was the second consecutive game Landry led the team in
stops.
•Kicker Adam Vinatieri converted 2-of-3 field goal attempts while adding
two PATs against the Dolphins for eight points. He improved his streak of
consecutive games scoring to 148 and also passed Lou Michaels for the
second-most extra points made in franchise history (264).
