E-2 b. Subordinate Tasks (Missions). In each succeeding paragraph, missions are assigned to each fire team and any attached units. c. Reserve. This paragraph identifies the unit assigned the reserve mission• and the tasks assigned to the reserve. Normally, a reserve is not designated below the company level. If no reserve is designated, this paragraph is omitted. d. Coordinating Instructions. In the last paragraph, instructions that apply to two or more subordinate units are given. 4. Administration and Logistics This paragraph contains information or instructions pertaining to rations and ammunition; location of the distribution point, corpsman, and aid station; the handling of prisoners of war; and other administrative and supply matters. 5. Appendix F Reporting Information 1. General. Informationmust be reported quickly, accurately, and as completely as possible. The acronym SALUTE provides a simple method for remembering how and what to report about the enemy. E quipment An example of such a report is "Seven enemy soldiers, traveling SW, crossed road junction on Black Ridge at 211300 August. They were wearing green uniforms and carrying one machine gun and one rocket launcher." 2. Shelling Reports (SHELREP). The squad should report enemy artillery and mortar fire, and aircraft bombings using a SHELREP. The following format is suitable for either a written or oral report: Alfa Bravo Charlie Delta Echo Foxtrot Golf Hotel India Juliet Kilo Observer's call sign. Observer's location. Azimuth to enemy gun. Time shelling started. Time shelling stopped. Coordinates of area shelled, if a map is available. Number and types of weapons fired. Nature of fire: destruction, harassing, or registration. Number and type of shells. Flash-bang time in seconds. Damage (usually in code). 3. Estimating Range by the Flash-Bang Method. Sound travels about 330 meters (1,100 feet) per second. When the observer sees the flash or smoke of a weapon, or the dust it raises, he starts counting seconds (one thousand one, F-i
