Paprika Potatoes<br />
serves 4, takes 45 minutes<br />
1 kg potatoes<br />
2 large onions<br />
50 grams smoked bacon<br />
50 grams lard<br />
100 grams smoked kolbász (dry<br />
sausage)<br />
2 tbsp Hungarian paprika<br />
1 medium yellow paprika<br />
sliced<br />
1 tomato, diced<br />
sour cream<br />
salt to taste<br />
pepper to taste<br />
Melt the smoked bacon with one spoonful of the lard. Peel and<br />
then cut the onions into small cubes, sauté in the fat until they<br />
are clear.<br />
Take the pan off of the heat and mix in the Hungarian paprika,<br />
some water and stir.<br />
Peel the potatoes, wash them, and cut them into quarters.<br />
Put potatoes, yellow paprika and tomato in the onions and fat,<br />
and return the pan to the stove and mix.<br />
Pour water over top, salt, and add peppers. When almost ready,<br />
add the sausage, and cook it for a few more minutes.<br />
Serve with sour cream.<br />
