TRAVELLIVE 09-2016

In a late afternoon in the early autumn, I’m standing at the balcony overlooking the playground of my apartment building. Children are excited to go outside after a heavy rain. Some boys are noisily fighting to catch a plastic ball. Under the shade of trees, my daughter and her friends are drawing strange images on the stone chairs with a pen of tree’s branch dripping with water. The space is noisy yet peaceful. Autumn comes and brings with it a lot of expectations such as milk flowers in every corner or green young rice for delicious dishes. Some people are complaining that their skin is getting drier despite cool weather. Children are eager to meet their friends after a long summer holiday, participate in outdoor activities on the weekend, or gather and make crazy things at one’s house while their parents are worried about their workload. Who will take care of the kids, take them to school, contact with teachers, help them with homework, and clean the messes they make? You see, whether or not autumn is wonderful depends on our mood. While reading this letter, perhaps, you are a bit busy preparing for a new business trip or getting tired of work. But spend a few minutes this autumn to take up some intriguing things, letting the autumn winds help you find out your own tranquility!

BUY A “TICKET TO CHILDHOOD”
IN DARK CAVE
About 15 minutes from Paradise Cave by boat, Hang Toi
(Dark Cave) is located near Nuoc Mooc spring which
looks as though it was formed by the best jade. Traveling
to the Dark Cave, you can experience the zipline through
Nuoc Mooc spring and swim in the cool underground
water. This is a must-try experience for adventurous
travelers.
As its name reflects, the darkness in Dark Cave is of such
a thick consistency that you might think that you can
“touch” it. Although the large cave’s dome may allow
natural light to enter, it’s hard to look deep inside it.
From outside, you can only listen to swallows chattering
from somewhere and the sounds of bats flapping their
wings among the rocks. The cave is covered by the shade
of green ferns - one of the oldest plant species on Earth.
Before entering the cave, you will be equipped with a
helmet and a small light. Don’t just look for the way but
make use of your light to discover vestiges of ancient
fossils on the cave’s wall. There, you will encounter
fossils of shells and sea creatures, proving that the cave
was beneath in ancient times. The deeper you go into the
cave, the softer the ground gets. Then you will access the
area with a thin layer of mud. It’s not easy to balance,
so you will slide on the mud like children playing in the
rain. Taking a trip to Dark Cave is like buying a “ticket to
your childhood” to bathe in a “smelting chocolate” cave.
After indulging in the natural mineral mud lake, you can
bathe in the underground spring.
