UKRAINE WAR AMPS
It starts with YOU.
Adopt a Soldier
and support a Hero of Ukraine!
kraine War Amps is a Toronto-based
volunteer initiative, founded by Gene
U Berezovski and John Broadhead in
2014. Its mission is to provide support
for Ukrainian soldiers and patriots who have lost
limbs or have been severely injured fighting for
Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Through the Ukraine War Amps
“Adopt a Soldier” project, donations
of $50 US or more are delivered to
Ukraine’s war veterans on a monthly
basis. The goal is to ensure wounded
heroes are taken care of and have
everything they need to move forward
in their life. Donors can provide
a one-time or occasional donation
in any amount for a chosen war
amputee. Donors can also choose to
provide ongoing monthly donations
in any amount for a chosen war amputee.
Ukraine War Amps provides proof
that donations have been delivered
and received by soldiers in a timely manner.
Photographs showing each recipient soldier
holding an official UWA poster with the donor’s
name and amount donated are shared on the official
Ukraine War Amps website and Facebook page.
This allows donors to trust that 100% of money donated
goes directly into the hands of soldiers being
helped across Ukraine.
The Ukraine War Amps dedicated team of volunteers
provide the opportunity for donors and amputees
to stay directly connected with each other
online, by phone, or through written letters. Donors
can also meet war veterans in person through
UWA’s “Visit a Soldier” project. These opportunities
for communication provide soldiers with the
hope and knowledge that they are not forgotten. In
addition to supporting Ukrainian soldiers, UWA’s “I
CARE About Fallen Hero’s Family” project allows
donors to provide assistance to the families of fallen
soldiers.
