Member Spotlight: Matt Lemons

This month, I am pleased to
introduce another one of our
new members, Matt Lemons.
Matt actually owns two Porsches, one for
ten years now and the second for three years.
He added, “I guess I’ve just been slow to
join PCA.” Both cars are 1986 944 Turbos.
His daily(ish) driver is Alpine white
and the “track car project” is Zermatt silver. He said
he started doing some small modifications on the silver
car and it snowballed into a much larger project. Matt
missed having it on the street so much, that he bought
the white car from a close friend. According to Matt,
the white car is still pretty tame. He added, “I cranked
the boost a bit and added some Bilstein coil overs and
HRE wheels to make Dallas traffic a bit more fun!”
Matt reports that he has been driving for 19
years and has owned over 20 very different vehicles.
However, he claims, “the vehicles I keep the longest
and stay interested in have been Porsches.” Matt fell
in love with Porsches as a child and started working around
them when he was 16 years old. He says he washed cars and
mopped floors at DC Racing & Development in Irving. A few
jobs and several years later, he opened his own shop in 2005.
Running Lemco Motorsports has been a childhood dream
come true. They specialize in custom vehicle fabrication. He
said, “People who are passionate about cars are great to work
with and I love being able to help them realize their goals.”
Matt was born in Dallas, and although he has traveled as
far as Germany, he just never found a good enough reason
to live outside the DFW area. Matt also loves spending time
with family and friends. Most of the time, cars
are not far away. He said he tries to involve
as many people as he can in his car hobby.
He reports that he is a certified gear head and
enjoys everything from car shows to racing
in events, like the 24 Hours of Lemons, (the
name is just coincidence). He added that he
is looking forward to being an integral part of
the PCA community and participating in our
events.
