completely missing. Right radiator is broken and mountings
are bent. So, while I am pulling off entire front nose and
assessing damage, Brian takes some time to just look at the
car from every angle. He comes up with many observations
that were most helpful. Ultimately we got Edwin back out
there. He missed qualifying and had to start from the back
of the field. In sprint race three on Sunday he finished 8th in
SPBOX class. Nice… That felt good…
Some great racing went on that weekend. Spec Boxster
class was amazing. John Gladwill and Steve Watkins
dueled for 1st and 2nd all weekend. Michael Hsu and Bryan
Henderson went after one another in the same class and
some great driving was witnessed. Thomas Jones came into
his own and showed some amazing skills. Billy Stevens
wanted to get past Glen Gatlin all weekend, but Glen was
having none of it. The HP of a GTA2 was just too much for
a GTC4 car. Billy really drove well. Cup cars are awesome
to watch.
If you have not been to Hallett it is a wonderful venue.
The turn out this year was huge. 90 plus cars and perfect
weather.
The SP Box class shows (and I have a time sheet in front
of me for Sprint Race 1) 20 cars in the first sprint race. My
understanding is that 22 cars signed up. That was the best
class for my money. Great racing all up and down the pack.
Also very clean racing in a class where the cars are so equal
in so many ways. That is a driver’s venue for sure... Wow!
