Every JYian a Values-driven Leader
Mission
To develop the personal and inter-personal effectiveness
of the student leaders, which enables the student to
effectively assume responsibilities that serve his/her
peers, the school and the community, and if possible
the nation and the world.
To develop (4Cs): Student leaders who are Confident,
Competent, Compassionate and Committed.
To provide student leaders with the learning experiences
that create self-awareness and promote self growth,
thus developing well-balanced student leaders.
To give JYians the leadership opportunities to showcase
their leadership skills through camps, OE, CCAs and
school projects.
To uphold the standard of student leadership in Juying
Secondary School.

Exceptional student leaders are given the opportunity
to attend vital training such as OBS and National School
Student Leaders’ Conference in order to further enhance
their knowledge, skills, competencies and experience
so that they can be better leaders. Our student leaders
thrive under the guidance of teacher mentors to take on
active leadership roles in school camps, sports events
and school functions .

Objective
- Nurturing leadership qualities in Secondary Two student
leaders through outdoor experiential learning
This year, Pulau Ubin was the destination for our Secondary Two
leaders for their LEAD camp. Guided by the Juying Outdoor
Education team and Camelot instructors, and assisted by a team
of committed teachers, our leaders experienced and reflected
upon daily decisions and actions to foster their own growth in
experiential learning.
Demonstrating the R³IGHT Core Values, the leaders conquered
various fears through each distinct activity. They displayed
budding teamwork and respect for nature for their VIA task and
resilience for their night confidence walk. Although the sea and
land expeditions stretched them physically and emotionally, the
leaders exhibited outstanding levels of resilience, responsibility
and humility as a team.
The LEAD camp had left an indelible imprint on the leaders’
training roadmap.
