Football
Netball
vision:
A sporting community of JYian footballers who aspire
to achieve more and inspire others with their strength of
character.
MISSION:
- To encourage a vibrant team spirit amongst the school
population, regardless of background, race or stream
- To use the CCA as a platform for students to achieve
greater exposure to tactical knowledge, camaraderie in
the soccer fraternity and refereeing capabilities
This year has been momentuous for Juying Football. For the first
time, both our C and B Division teams made it to the 2nd round
of the West Zone Inter-School Football Championships 2015.
Through their perseverance and discipline on the field, our boys
kept the Juying flag flying high .
This would not have been possible without the care and
guidance of our CCA teachers-in-charge- Mr Lee Kah Hong,
Mr Ong Hok Beng and Mr Hanan. More notably, our teacher
and coach, Mr Sies Senan had led the team with his tactical
knowledge of the game and was the reason behind our teams’
successful run in this year’s tournament.
Active and gracious netballers with
excellent sportsmanship
To develop a driven and committed team competent
in netball skills and leadership qualities, in a caring and
supportive environment.
The year began with the netball girls training hard for the
annual West Zone Tournaments. Despite injuries and tough
opponents, they displayed strong resilience and teamwork,
beating several schools and obtaining personal bests. The M1
Challenge followed closely after, where our ‘C’ Division played
very well and clinched the Silver medal! Though trainings were
tough, netballers maintained discipline and never failed to
encourage one another. Through perspiration, challenges, and
tears at times, they have developed leadership, forged strong
bonds and created fond memories. Netball also has a team
of enthusiastic seniors, who are actively involved in friendly
matches with the juniors. We look forward to more bonding
at the year-end ‘Sports Camp’, and greater achievements next
year!
Our C boys’ team, Juying Galacticos, has also clinched 2nd place
in the Sports ‘Xperience Street Soccer Tournament 2015 @ Ulu
Pandan CC, which witnessed them compete against 32 other
teams across Singapore. It was also significant as we had sent
in a competitive girls’ team for the first time in this competition!
Despite bowing out in the round-robin stage, we recorded our
first 1-0 win against the team from Hong Kah Secondary School!
Well done Juying Football!
We will also be organizing the Combined Sports Camp
in November where the boys will plan a tournament for 6
primary schools in our cluster. Through this camp, we hope
to reach out to more aspiring footballers, share and learn
through our interactions with other CCA members. May Juying
Football continue to build on our successes and attain greater
achievements in the coming year!
