The German Centre Singapore was awarded
with the prestigious Green Mark Platinum
Award by the Singaporean Building
and Construction Authority and is one of
the winners in the “Excellence in Energy
Management” category of the EENP
Awards 2016. Only few existing buildings
in Singapore have achieved those and
serve as a recognition to the fine effort of
the management team and the commitment
of the investor to ensure that the
facility is on top of the industry standard.
The German Centre Singapore is a member
of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg
Group (LBBW), which is a universal German
federal state bank with a broad international
network. After the successful
implementation of the pilot project in Singapore
in 1995, LBBW opened German
Centres in Beijing, Delhi.Gurgaon (a joint
enterprise of BayernLB and LBBW), Mexico
and Moscow. Further German Centres
are located in Jakarta, Indonesia, owned
by L-Bank, and in Shanghai and Taicang
owned by BayernLB. All German Centres
are a symbol of active economic collaboration
between nations and aim to build
bridges between people, businesses and
cultures. They are supported by state and
federal ministries as well as German business
organization. Altogether, the eight
German Centres have assisted more than
2,000 companies to enter growth markets.
Since 1 April 2016 Katharina Ravens took
over the management of the German Centre
Singapore. The 40-year old lawyer is
profoundly familiar with the German Centres
and the Asian economic area, having
held positions at LBBW as co-managing
director and Head of German Centres for
Industry and Trade in Stuttgart since 2007.
Before that, Katharina Ravens worked
for the Delegation of Industry and Commerce
in Shanghai, China (AHK China) for
three years.
