Miss Lucy Bowman
Graduate Sports Assistant

Miss Lucy Bowman has been
a very useful addition to the
PE department this year. Not
only has she helped many of
the netballers improve their
skills, but she always has a
positive, cheerful approach
that encourages students and
staff alike. It is already clear
that Lucy will become a very
good teacher in the future,
and we wish her well on
her teacher training course
(PGCE) next year.
Mr Alex Johnson
Graduate Sports Assistant

Mr Alex Johnson came
into his own during
the second half of the
year, with practices
then matches in cricket,
his main sport. Alex
has really helped the
boys consolidate their
existing individual skills,
while also encouraging
them to develop more
advanced techniques.
He has been in charge
of the promising U12
team, helping them to achieve several excellent results and
performances. We wish Alex all the best in the future when
he will pursue his ambition for a career in business.
Dr James Winkley
Graduate Music Assistant

Dr James Winkley has been a fantastic member of the Music
Department who has approached his work with the utmost
professionalism. Aside from the myriad administrative
tasks he has done on a daily
basis, he has taught various
students theory or supported
them in preparation for their
practical music examinations.
In particular, Dr Winkley
has taken the Intermediate
Orchestra from strength to
strength, refining the sound
they made and ensuring that
the musical detail is attended
to. We must not forget that
Dr Winkley arrived as Mr
Winkley. Completing his PHD
on top of his boarding and
house duties is no mean feat!
Congratulations on gaining your doctorate, Doctor!
James was also a valued member of the Boarding Staff
team. For only the most positive of reasons, he was very
much a larger than life character who enhanced the
boarding experience of students and colleagues alike.
He will be greatly missed as a musician and colleague and
we wish him the best of luck as he joins Cokethorpe as a
Teacher of Music.
