Boarding Community Concert
BOARDING
Much has been achieved within the Boarding Community this year. The continued popularity
of boarding has seen both Houses close to full capacity for much of the year, relatively small
numbers of day students being welcomed by the full and weekly boarders, and enhancing the
community through their presence. Our trial Thursday night taster sessions for Years 5 and 6
students have been a particularly popular initiative.
The strength of relationships remains an
impressive strength of our community, both
between students and staff, and within the
student body - many older boarders keeping
an eye out for the youngsters, caring for them
much as might an older sibling.
This year has also seen some of the best ever
studies grades - particularly within the Girls’
House - and it is pleasing to see these efforts
rewarded by many excellent results in this year’s school
and public examinations.
Boarding Community Concert
This new facility - now used exclusively
by boarders - has proved to be really
popular with boys and girls of all ages,
many of whom use it as a venue for
conversation with each other and with
members of staff during free time in
the evening.
Our hugely varied programme of
weekend trips and activities - most of
which was suggested during meetings of the Boarding Council
- has been very popular again this year.

The rolling programme of continual improvements to the
facilities has continued as usual, though the refurbishment
of the old school tuck shop is worthy of particular mention.
