plazzo, kutis and jeggings and is<br />

mainly targeting women and<br />

teen age girls. While interacting<br />

with Team Apparel & Fashion<br />

Sanjay Batra, Owner, Olizo<br />

shared that the reason behind<br />

success of its brand is its strong<br />

sourcing base and high quality<br />

standards being followed in its<br />

product range. “We source from<br />

different places in <strong>India</strong> on the<br />

basis of their specialization, for<br />

instance, Ahmedabad is known<br />

for print so we source prints<br />

from them,” said Batra.<br />

He also informed about the<br />

unique product mix which has<br />

become possible because of<br />

selective sourcing from places<br />

like Bareilly, Farukhabad,<br />

Jaipur, Jodhpur and many more.<br />

The product range consists of<br />

night wear, evening wear, party<br />

wear, blouses, tops, tunics,<br />

dresses, kaftans and kids wear.<br />

“We follow the principle of ‘fast<br />

fashion’ and thus every week we<br />

come up with around 3 to 4 new<br />

designs and once we make a<br />

design we do not repeat it,” said<br />

he. The company is mainly into<br />

leggings segment and is offering<br />

as many as 108 colours in this<br />

category.<br />

He also explained that the<br />

company is regularly working on<br />

new developments and<br />

innovations. For instance, the<br />

company recently started using<br />

sequin work wherein it has<br />

mixed Swarovski and sequin to<br />

create interesting patterns.<br />

As far as the marketing is<br />

concerned, Olizo is mainly<br />

selling through wholesalers,<br />

shopkeepers and through<br />

boutiques. “Our main focus is to<br />

create a unique and price<br />

competitive range so that<br />

everyone can afford it,” said he.<br />

The company is also into<br />

exports and is working with<br />

countries like UAE, Australia,<br />

EU and is exploring tie ups with<br />

the UK, US, Malaysia, Mauritius<br />

and Singapore. Along with that<br />

the company is also selling<br />

through e-commerce portals of<br />

Snapdeal, Flipkart and Amazon.<br />

While talking about the<br />

current market scenario and<br />

impact of Demonetisation Sanjay<br />

averred, “In <strong>India</strong> most of the<br />

people are mostly dependent on<br />

cash and they are not used to buy<br />

from plastic money and that is<br />

why about 80% of the market is<br />

affected.” He further adds,<br />

“Right now people are not ready<br />

for procurements as the cash<br />

flow is very poor and most of the<br />

factories are facing huge<br />

problems.” He however feels that<br />

once GST gets implemented<br />

recovery will be faster let’s say in<br />

about 6-7 months, but in case<br />

GST gets delayed the recovery<br />

would take longer time.<br />
