team of Aditya Birla of having a
permanent showroom for exporters in
Noida. “The LAPF studio will act as an
enabler for our value chain partners.
We are happy to associate with Noida
garment cluster which is a key source
to clothing brands across the world.
We are very excited to see this
partnership and support of the entire
textile industry particularly LAPF
members. We soon intend to launch
LAPF studios into national and
international markets”
LAPF studio is connected with over
50 international buying houses, 650
garment manufacturers & exporters,
over 50 local & international brands
agents, traders and 100 fashion design
houses. LAPF partners will get
invitations to special events where they
can experience technical developments
in Textile and Seasonal Collections. It
will also host interesting talks on
fashion by eminent personalities from
the fashion industry to keep the
partners updated about the new trends
in the fashion segments.
Lalit Thukral, President,
NAEC described how the idea of the
studio started and shared, “We were
very excited to see Liva SS/17 seasonal
collection at LAPF meet last year
during which the seeds of LAPF studio
was sown. It is very important for
manufacturers to have a permanent
studio wherein exporters can come and
source according to latest market
trends and buyers requirements.” He
also said that a similar initiative was
taken by me in 1980’s when I had
started a showroom in Rajender Place,
it benefited exporters in serving to
needs of buyers in terms of fast
sampling and fast fashion. The same
strategy will work in Noida as well.”
Noida has been increasingly becoming
an important export hub and has around
800 manufacturers who require latest
range of fabrics for their daily use. The
innovations brought by Liva Fabrics would
be of immense benefits”
Well- known fashion designer
Narinder Kumar who was the chief
guest at the inauguration expressed his
admiration of the studio, he said, “Liva
has all the ingredients that a fashion
designer requires to make an outfit. I
am very happy to see textile industry
adapting to the fashion & design. The
world is moving towards ‘see now buy
now fashion’ which means those
clothes that you see on the ramp and
the same day these are available on the
showrooms. A studio such as this acts
as a laboratory keep up with the times to
be in sync with the global market, and be
a leader in the domestic market.” He
congratulated the organisers of LIVA for
being the ones with the vision to start
something like this.
Anil Peshawari, MD, Meenu
Creations, said, “A studio like this
was required for a long time. I feel that
India has ideal conditions for being an
export hub with good number of
skilled labour and better mindset, yet
we export not more than 10% of what
China does in the garment sector. One
of the main reasons for this is non
availability of different qualities of
fabrics which can be solved through
this to a large extent. However, having
a technical and experienced team that
can help manufacturers in sourcing
their needs as per the requirement is
also essential.”
Manish Bagrodia, MD,
WINSOME YARNS LIMITED,
said, “The studio is definitely a good
initiative as this will help us in
connecting with the end customers.
Having everybody at the same platform is
of course very convenient. Also, the studio
will help us in having an idea about the
market and also identify the requirements
of our clients. For this platform we are
having cellulosic based products.”
Speaking on the impact of Demonetisation
he said that domestic market especially
retailers have been adversely impacted by
Demonetisation though exports have
largely not been impacted.”
Rajiv Gopal expressed that ever since
LIVA was launched in March 2015, it
has got a very good response from the
consumer. We have received good
customer feedback which says that they
have loved the fabric quality and have
showed intent of purchasing it even in
future which is good move. He also
underlined how India has made
progress in the segment of viscose
garments in the last two years as the
quality of viscose fabrics has improved
greatly. “Exports of viscose garments
have jumped by 30% which is a
phenomenal achievements, moreover,
today many international buyers are
recognizing India is an important
sourcing destination for viscose based
garments. This was not always the same
as earlier most of the viscose based
garments were sourced from China,
Turkey and Indonesia. India was very
popular for cotton based garments but
not viscose based garments.”
On the occasion, many garment
exporters from Delhi, NCR region were
seen viz. Deepak Agarwal, B.L
International, Uday Sehgal, Mariko,
Nikhil Thukral, MD, Maharana of India,
Animesh Saxena, Neetee Clothing,
Avanish Jain, Bee Bay Apparel, Sanjay
Gulati, Grovel Apparels and many more.
