held his lead with Painter in second
place, Hirsch third and Ray Patterson

fourth.
Cape Town's Bunny Shandler took a
heavy tumble coming over Jacks and
this put paid to his chances in the first
heat, and apparently for the rest of the
meeting, as he did not feature in the remaining
two heats. After his win in the
first heat, Chris Brand came in second
behind Barry Falconer (Team Terra-
Move Shimwells Yamaha) in the next
heat with Graham Green filling third
place. Obviously encouraged by his ride
in the second heat, Falconer took the
lead in the third heat with Tommy
Trefz (Ride High with Yamaha) immediately
behind him, but Trefz disappeared
temporarily from the scene, to
emerge later well down the field. Brand
Painter and Hirsch were prominent in
this heat with Graham Green closing
the gap all the time as leader Falconer
appeared to be tiring.
Green eventually overtook Falconer to
win, with Brand third, Painter fourth
and Hirsch fifth.
First heat of the 100 cc Juniors
provided an exciting dice between Neil
Riddell (Yamaha) and Gary Beuthin,
who has moved up this season from If you were leading the 125 Class by that far you'd also be laughing. Grant Maben.
