Corak Rentak Director, Eddie Wong said, "Durian is our
country's greatest treasure. Malaysia has plenty of durian
trees and we should make the most out of this. The fruit
is synonymous to our culture. Let that be known on an
international level too."
He added that the freeze and air-dry technique allowed the
seasonal fruit to be enjoyed all year round.
Wong said store sales were brisk when it came to durians,
especially among Asians, both local and international.
"Out of 10 Asian customers, eight will fall in love with our durian
products. However, we are trying to promote the product to
our European customers too."
European customers, he said, preferred to buy souvenirs
and handicrafts such as orchid key chains, batik clothing,
pearls from Sabah, Tanamera spa products and handmade
organic soaps.
Apart from durians, he also said the store has a steady supply
of customers purchasing bird's nest, 'tongkat ali' and white
coffee products.
Out of the 40 in-house products, Wong said 35 products are
durian-based.
"We don't just freeze and air-dry durians. We do the same
with rambutan, jackfruit, mangosteen and mangoes."
For the months of January and February, promotions include
purchasing 5 boxes of freeze and air-dried durians at RM32.90
per box and you will receive one box free, purchasing 5 boxes
of durian coffee and receiving one box of durian coffee with
5 different type of flavours as well as purchasing a box of
Tongkat Ali retailing at RM199 and receiving a Nature Mart
traditional oil balm for free.
