Airlines Prospects for 2017 Malindo Air PR and Communications Director, Raja Sa'adi Raja Amrin told Convergence the airline was definitely looking into expanding further in 2017. "Last year, the airline operated across a continuously growing network of 41 routes in the region. This year, I can't give a figure yet but it is certain we will have new routes since we are taking in more aircrafts." He said the airline will be taking in more Boeing 737 aircrafts to cater to its growing number of passengers. The airline most latest new route was announced early January 2017. The route, Kota Kinabalu to Taipei, is offered four times in a week as a direct flight. Raja Sa'adi added that the year 2017 will see an increased focus in building new routes to China, Australia and other Asian countries. The airline collaborated with three airlines last year, namely Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways. Check-In At KL Sentral Customers are able to check-in at the KL Ekspres Departure Hall. Check-in can be done at least three hours before their flight and the customer’s luggage can be checked through to their final destination. The cut-off time of three hours before departure would be necessary to facilitate their check-in baggage transfer to KLIA. Travellers need to purchase the KLIA Ekspres train ticket to use this dedicated services. Ticket fares are usually priced at RM55, one way. Malindo Air CEO, Chandran Rama Muthy said, "The city check-in services that we are offering is another milestone for us as we build a stronghold in Kuala Lumpur. The city centre check-in services at KL Sentral will strategically enhance the travel experience and improve our product offering to our ever growing customers." Chandran also said, "With a travelling time of only 28 minutes on ERL Ekspres, and train departures at every 15 minutes interval, it is definitely another convenient and hassle-free travel experience with Malindo Air. Travellers can then board the KLIA express train to KLIA hassle-free without the checked-in baggage in tow and bypass check-in queues at KLIA." 84
