12. In the properties of the channel unit you
can see all „available connections”.
Choose the newly created one and click
again on „Properties”. Now you can see
all the variables which has been
created for this connection. In fact this
connection is a new one so there will be
no variable in the list. To add a new
variable click on „New”.
13. Now set up the name of the variable
(e.g. „S7LAN_MW0”) and other
configuration data. Our example has
the following configuration: Name:
„S7LAN_MW0“, Data type: „unsigned
16 - Bit value“, Length: „2“, Address: „MW0“, Format adaptation:
„WordToUnsignedWord“. Click on „Choose” beside the Address to define the
address from the variable. Example configuration: The data area from the variable
is set to „Mark“ and the address is set to „Word”. The edit box „MW“ is set to „0”.
14. Confirm all open dialogs with „OK“.
15. The connection needs to know which network interface card it should use to send
data via the Ethernet. Open the „System parameters“ dialog from the context
menu (right click on TCP/IP).
16. Choose the registry card „Unit“ and set the „logical device name“ to your network
interface card (usually the name of the NIC begins with a „TCP/IP - > „).
17. Confirm with „OK“.
Now you are able to start the communication. Stop it by pressing
