<strong>North</strong> <strong>Dakota</strong> plays its football home<br />

located just minutes from the UND<br />

campus in Grand Forks.<br />

For the 2008 season, more than<br />

100,000 fans turned out to watch the<br />

Sioux play at the Alerus, and UND’s<br />

regular season average attendance<br />

<strong>of</strong> 10,517 was a school record.<br />

BETTY ENGELSTAD SIOUX CENTER<br />

The Betty Engelstad Sioux Center (left and<br />

below) opened in August 2004 and is home to<br />

the UND volleyball and basketball teams, while<br />

also housing the Fighting Sioux women’s soccer<br />

locker room and o� o� o� o� ces.<br />

One <strong>of</strong> the premiere arenas <strong>of</strong> its kind in the<br />

country, the Sioux Center has a capacity <strong>of</strong><br />

approximately 3,300. There are 2,600 seats with<br />

molded chair backs, 700 telescopic bleacher<br />

seats and additional seating in the VIP area.<br />
